Priyanka's night out

Continued....

That night Casper was very excited. He had not had a good-day's sleep, but he was not at all sleepy. He was preparing for all the nice fun to do with Priyanka on the next night. All the ghosts had taken a holiday. This was the first time a ghost baby was having a play-date with a human baby and they all wanted it to be super-duper-duper fun. So, everyone planned a fiesta. They had planned a load of surprises.

Next evening, Casper and his mommy, came to pick up Priyanka. Aai(Mommy) and Papi were a little worried. They never had any ghost friends before. But Casper's mommy, Casper and Priyanka told Aai that they will all be safe. Priyanka had packed her flashlight, though Casper had told her that it would not be necessary.

Casper's home was through the dark and dense forest. Priyanka was feeling a little scared. But it is not polite to tell your best friend that the entrance to his home scares you. So, she did not say anything.

Casper was casting a pleasant brightness around Priyanka which she found very warm and cozy. As they went deeper into the forest, there was very little visible on the path and Casper was prattling about everything that had been planned for the night-fun. 

Suddenly, at a little distance, Priyanka saw a light. It flickered in the deep dark forest. As she got closer, she realised that the light shimmered just like Casper's. She knew it was another ghost. But, she was not sure if this ghost would be as good as Casper. What if this one ate little girls?? She heard a shrill "Hee hee hee" from the other ghost like a baby's voice. She was sure this ghost had pointy teeth. She could hold back no longer.

"Casper, there is another ghost behind that tree.", she whispered quietly.

Casper stopped talking and looked up. He suddenly realised that Priyanka was scared and there was not enough light for her. He went to check ahead.

"Hey!! That's Esme. My baby sister. Come out Esme. You have to say hello to my best friend."

Esme came forward to meet Priyanka. She was not scary at all. On the contrary, she was indeed like a small baby. Then, Casper called out for his rest of the family. There were hundreds of ghosts in the forest now. It looked as bright as the daylight. Now, Priyanka was not scared at all.

Casper first took Priyanka to his play-park. There were floating roller-coasters and merry-go-rounds which did not go round at all. It was all lighted up by ghosts.  There was ghost ice-cream.  The ghost ice-cream did not melt. But it did not feel like food at all. Just like all ghost food. Now, Priyanka knew why Casper had so much problem eating the lunch with her. She also saw fairies and goblins and elves. Most of them were Casper's friends and they became Priyanka's friends too.

Next, Casper took Priyanka on a mountaintop. There were tiny little lights all over the city. Casper had made a special hand-glider for Priyanka. It was big but not at all heavy. Priyanka and Casper flew all over the city and had lots and lots of fun. Priyanka even found her home and saw her mommy any papi sleeping. They kept flying and went higher and higher. They reached the moon.


"Wait!! We can't go on the moon!!", Priyanka said. "There is nothing on the moon."

"Oh no!! There is a lot of fun stuff to do on the moon. But only when you are a ghost or fairy. Normal people can't see anything there. You are with me, so, you WILL see."

So, they kept on going. Finally, they reached the Moon. 

"Welcome Casper and his tiny little friend." Moon said with a big smile.

Priyanka could not stop looking. The moon had a lot and lot of white things on it. There were white ice-cream mountains, fountains of milk, lots of fairies and ghosts were whirling past Priyanka. She could barely see Casper flying high above her. Casper was so excited. Moon was his favourite place in the whole world. He saw around and saw Priyanka standing alone looking lost. Her hand-glider did not work on the moon. She was finding it difficult to breathe too. Casper felt very sad. 

"We will have to go. Priyanka cannot have fun here.", Casper said to the Moon.

Moon looked at Priyanka and said to Casper,"That will not do. She has to see how much fun it is. I will do magic."

Suddenly, there were fireworks in the sky. There were bright lights. Moon's booming voice came from everywhere.

"Hello everyone!! Today we have among us a tiny baby, Priyanka. I want her to have fun here. So, with my magic, I am going to make her a ghost-fairy. Whenever she is with Casper, my magic will take effect and she will become a ghost-fairy."

All of a sudden, Priyanka could take deep breaths. She was becoming light like casper and delicate like a fairy. She could suddenly feel tiny little wings coming out of her back. She wiggled them a bit and all of a sudden, she could fly. She zoomed over everyone and everybody clapped. Casper became so happy. They played over the moon mountains and the moon waterfalls. They jumped over the moon rainbows and flew with the other fairies till the moon started to get sleepy.

After moon went to sleep, Casper bought Priyanka back to  her home. Priyanka was so tired that she went back to bed as soon as Casper left. Her wings had vanished. But she knew she could have them again when she went out with Casper. She went to sleep dreaming about all the fun she had that night.

Casper's night out...

Casper and Priyanka are best friends. But they can meet only in the evenings. And that too when Priyanka sleeps late. One evening, they are having fun.

"I don't like the sun!!!", Casper sighed.

"But sun is fun!! You can go to the play-park, beach, garden,swimming pool...You can build castles and play and eat ice-creams", cried Priyanka.

"But the night is more fun. There are stars, moon and fairies and sparklers. You can see fire-works and not worry about humans seeing you and you can jump in chocolate fountains", responded Casper.

"All that sounds fun, too", acquiesced Priyanka.

"Why don't you stay up all night with me and we could go to places??", asked Casper.

"That's when I sleep", said Priyanka. 

Both of them became silent and were thinking when the same idea came to both of them. 

"How about tomorrow we both stay up all day and the day after we will stay up all night!!", both said together.

So, it was decided. Next day, Casper would come over to wake-up Priyanka and they would both have the sun-fun. 

Casper was waiting for Priyanka when she woke up the next day....

"Come!! Let's brush teeth!!", Priyanka said.

Bump. Bump. Bump. Casper was bumping into everything. He could not see in daylight. Priyanka told him to hold her hand and float. It was only a little better. Because, Priyanka could not stop him from bumping into the lights and the beams and the fans in the ceiling. Casper was already wondering if this was a good plan when Priyanka came up with an idea. 

"I need flash-light when I walk in the dark. We need a flash-light of darkness for you.", she said.

"But, that's silly", quipped Casper. "There is no such thing."

"But, there is!!", Priyanka said. 

Carefully she moved him into her shadow. That was much better. Now, Casper could see everything. He only needed to stay in her shadow.

They went to her school first. He met Elizabeth, Charlotte, Lulu, Amy and Layla. They all liked him. Miss Christine and Miss Ge also became his best friends.They all made shadows for Casper when they were playing in the play-park, when they were dancing and singing, when they were doing happy thursday yoga*. Miss Christine and Miss Ge also made the room darker so, Casper would see the movie. Casper had a lot of fun in the school.  They also had their lunch together. Priyanka helped Casper finish his lunch.

Then Mommy came to pick up Priyanka and Casper. It was nearly noon. And oh! No! The sun was over-head and there was no shadow for Casper. So, Mommy put Casper  and Priyanka in the stroller and put on the safety-belt. Then they went to the horse carousel. Mommy and Priyanka put Casper on the horse and round and round and round and round they went. Then they went to have the ice-cream. 

Casper had never eaten ice-cream before. He could not even see what it looks like. 

"I will hold your cone. You won't be able to see when the ice-cream is melting.", Priyanka offered. "Just try to eat the sweetest smelling soft thing you can feel with your mouth."

Casper tried to smell the ice-cream. He thought it smelled delicious. He moved closer and slllurppp...he licked!!!

"Peeeeewwwwww", Priyanka cried."You are licking me!!"

He tried again. Slurppp. Same thing happened. Finally Priyanka asked him to open his mouth and then she put ice-cream inside it. 

"Yummmyyyy" Casper loved ice-cream. They took 5 more ice-creams and then their tummy was full. 

Casper was getting very tired by then. 

"But we HAVE to see the beach in the day-time.", Priyanka told him earnestly. "You can sleep when we are driving there."

So, both Priyanka and Casper took a small nap when they were driving to the beach.

At the beach, they made the biggest sand castle ever. They saw star-fishes and collected shells. They swam in the waves. All the while, they took great care that Casper stayed in the shadows. They played in the beach till the sky started turning red.

As it started getting dark, Casper's mommy came to pick up Casper. They had one final candy floss. Casper left with a promise to come back tomorrow and Priyanka left with a promise to spend the next night having night-fun with Casper.

Baby Priyanka had such a fun-filled day. She was happy and tired. She thought of all the things she had not shown Casper and decided to show him all those things next time. With such pleasant thoughts and sweet dreams about all her best friends, she said her good night prayer, brushed her teeth and went to sleep.

The couple's inner-most evil thought is "Will she sleep now??" ... The baby has no multiple thoughts....She has a simple question..."What happens next???"

          For the blood-thirsty audience, this is NOT your niche...Mommy hates violence or any signs of blood, any negativity or anything scary....All the stories are meant to give nice dreams to the baby and a complete 8-hour-beauty-sleep for mommy....
